Intellectual property including patents, trademarks and trade secrets is imperative to the growth and advancement of any biotech company, and our policy is to pursue intellectual property protection aggressively for all our technologies in the US and throughout the world. Alseres Pharmaceuticals owns or has obtained exclusive licenses to patent portfolios for a variety of compounds aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of CNS disorders. Our patent estate includes greater than 180 issued U.S. patents and pending patent applications in the U.S. and internationally. These include pharmaceutical composition of matter patents, method of use and method of treatment patents. In addition, we hold patent positions on bulk drug manufacturing processes for our protein products.
Our intellectual property estate in regenerative medicine appears to be unrivaled at the present time. We own or have exclusively licensed broad and deep issued and pending patents covering a variety of molecules and methods that operate through critical regenerative pathways. We are committed to aggressively defending this patent position while at the same time continuing to expand the scope and breadth of our intellectual property estate in this mission critical area.
