DAT Blocker Program
The Dopamine Transporter or DAT is a protein, located on the surface of dopamine-producing neurons in the brain, which allows dopamine to be reabsorbed into the dopamine neurons. Alseres Pharmaceuticals is developing small molecules called DAT Blockers for the potential treatment of Parkinson's Disease. This group of DAT Blocker candidates has high selectivity for the Dopamine Transporter (DAT) and may represent a novel and promising approach for both symptomatic management and disease modification in PD.
